The following e-mails were written in response to a believer. According to his faith we are saved by grace but we please God by fleshly obediance to the old covenant and we are to obey the old covenant, (torah living,Judaism), according to the flesh.
In your response you declare that God has not changed and yet you admit that sacrifices are no longer offered. The truth of the matter is Jesus is the final sacrifice and atonement for our sins. Spiritually he has replaced the passover lamb of the torah.
Hebrews 10:8
Jesus said He would make a new covenant with the, "spiritual house of Israel", where He would write the law on their mind and their hearts. To obey this new covenant law you must obey with your mind and your heart not your flesh.
In Hebrews, doctrines are called food. Jesus said, "man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." So, new covenant foods are the doctrines you eat, and I agree that there are some doctrines that are unclean and should not be eaten because they did not come from the mouth of God.
In Paul's letter to the Galatians which clearly preaches against fleshly obedience Paul refers to torah living as witchcraft. In, Phillipians 3, Paul declares his blameless obedience to the former law, rubbish, and of no value compared to knowing Christ.
The reason we have to be spiritually born is so we can understand the things of the Spirit. Throughout the new covenant the spiritual interpretation of the old covenant is given, and it never involves the flesh or the things of this world. Paul declares that the oxen of the new covenant refer to those who labor and plow the fields of God. 1 Corinthians 9:9 Sarcastically, Paul says, " is it oxen God is concerned about?" I guess that means Paul didn't understand the meaning of the law.
Jesus referred to His followers as sheep. Sheep and oxen are part of the former law and they were sacrificed to please God. Apostles (oxen) and believers (sheep) are killed every day because of their faith by men who have no faith and believe that God is pleased by their actions.
Jesus spoke about divorce, only when a women committs adultery against her husband. The reason He didn't say anything about a husband committing adultery is because He is the Husband and He will always be faithful. Only if we (the wife) commit spiritual adultery against Him, is He permitted to divorce us. This is why I am trying to warn you about your beliefs. In Hebrews it says it is faith that pleases God. So if we want to please Him we must obey His law according to faith and not the flesh.
As one who is born again you have direct access to your Lord Jesus and His Holy Spirit who will lead us into all truth. All I can do is get you to earnestly seek Him and not men concerning this matter.
Concerning the Sabbath, which will be the seventh day. "The millenium" is the seventh day and it will be Holy and consecrated to God as a day of rest, for us as well, who enter it by faith. With the Lord a day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as a day.
Hebrews 4:1-9, 2 Thessalonians 1:7
The Lord has shown me massive amounts of scriptures declaring the former laws have become spiritual and can only be obeyed by faith in spiritual eternal things. If you would like to discuss this further I would be more than happy too!
You agree that the sacrifices were a shadow of things to come. Yet they are contractually equal to all other laws written in the torah. If you don't believe that animals have to be sacrificed any longer than the remainder of the law has also changed in the same way. You quoted a verse in Leviticus stating that the man and the woman caught in adultery should be stoned. satan is acknowledged as the god of this world. So if he commits spiritual adultery with God's wife, satan and the unfaithful wife will be stoned by Him who is without sin.
Revelation 15:3, 15:21
Obeying the torah literally involves judging others and yet Christ tells us to judge no one. We are not to stone anyone, so how can you say nothing has changed. Or God is pleased by your faultless obedience when you can't be a Christian and still obey the torah according to the flesh. If you can't obey every word of it something has changed.
Galatians 5:3,4
I can obey every word of the torah according to the spirit. It is impossible for you to obey every word of it according to the flesh.
Paul says you have fallen from grace if you attempt to please God with your fleshly obedience and he speaks of "the falling away" in, 2 Thessalonians 2:3, before Jesus return. Have you been baptized into "Jesus" name, believing (faith) that you are being joined to Him.
BAPTISM
In the torah they were baptized into Moses, we are commanded to be baptized into Jesus the mediator of the new covenant.
You appear to desire the truth and Jesus wants to give it to you if you ask for it in faith. He loves you and does not want you to perish because you missed the truth. He gives us His Holy Spirit to reveal "spiritual things".
I am sorry to keep you waiting. James 2:14-26, In the reference you chose none of the works that were shown are from the law of Moses. They are all works of faith based on there heart and mind. None of them were works according to the law. If I ignored your need, that would be faith without works. Gods grace has given me the truth and my desire is to give it back to God with the increase.
God does not have to change for the law to change. As Paul stated the law of Moses came after the promise but before it was manifested. Does that mean God changed then. God judged the world in Noahs day before there was a law, does that mean God changed then. Many different things have been done and we are now partakers of the promise which came before the law but was not manifested until Jesus Christ established it with His own blood. Paul declared the law to be a tutor to lead us to the promise, Jesus Christ.
In one of your previous emails you quoted Jeremiah 31 where God says He was a Husband to literal Israel under the covenant of Moses.
Romans 7:1-6
Declares the covenant marriage with them to end, when Christ died. Now all, (Jews/Gentiles) can be married to Jesus Christ through a new spiritual covenant. The proof of this is found in the torah as a type and shadow played out in the lives of God's people.
Galatians 4:21-31
Paul unveils what the torah merely states. Abram had a covenant with Hagar who was in bondage to him. A shadow of the law of Moses. That is why Ishmael was born first, just as the law came before the promise was manifested. After Hagar and Ishmael, God changed his name to Abraham and Sarah gave birth to Isaac. Which is a shadow of the new covenant. Sarah was not a bond servant she was a free-women under a different covenant than Hagar. If you continue to read Pauls revelation, Hagar who represents the physical covenant was cast out, her and her children and they did not receive the inheritance. Pauls question to you is why would you want to be an Ishmael when you can be an Isaac. ISHMAEL-ISAAC?
Under the first covenant, as Gentiles, we were not permitted to be a part of that covenant. So either God has changed or the covenant has. I agree God does not change so that means the covenant has. That is what allows us as Gentiles to enter into the new covenant. Hagar and Sarah represent 2 totally different covenants with 2 totally different results. So yes I believe and obey the torah by faith in what it means in Jesus. I thank the Lord for revealing His truth to me and I know that if it is the truth you desire, with all your heart, He will not deny you either. Isn't the grace of the new covenant wonderful.
