Times of the Gentiles

Luke 21:24 " And Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled."

I have heard many sermons on this verse and the sermons I’ve heard do not agree with the wonderful truths the Lord has established in my heart. So I asked Jesus for His interpretation of this verse. The following is what the Holy Spirit showed me in God’s word concerning this verse.

Revelation 11:12 " Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months".

This verse in Revelation makes the same claim as Luke 21:24 and includes the fact that this will occur during the tribulation and last for three and a half years, making it a future event. It also clears up the fact that Jesus was referring to the holy city Jerusalem, which happens to be His Bride. Revelation 21:9,10. This is not the earthly city of Jerusalem, which is to be destroyed to make way for the manifestation of the Heavenly city.

I have added a little help in the next verse so that you can see its interpretation:

Matthew 23:37-39 (2 Jerusalem’s) "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, (earthly Jerusalem), the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together , as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; " For I say to you,(heavenly Jerusalem), you shall see me no more until you say blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord".

We have seen Him no more until He comes again. The reference to the heavenly city is the second coming of Jesus when He resurrects the living and the dead who belong to Him. His bride (the holy city) will say blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.

The Holy Spirit has revealed that the times of the Gentiles was a reference to the timing of physical judgment which is still at this time a future event not a past or present time. We now live in a dispensation of grace that began with the preaching of Jesus gospel. Jesus appeared physically to the Jews, and to them only, did He preach. The dispensation of grace for the Jews began with Jesus preaching. Three and a half years later the gospel was preached to the Gentiles by Peter. Therefore the Jews dispensation ends three and one half years before the Gentiles.

1 Peter 4:17 " For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God".

Romans 2:8,9 " indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek."

Luke 21: 20-23 " But when you see (earthly) Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. Then let those in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those in the country enter her. For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people". : 32 " Assuredly I say to you this generation will by no means pass away till all things are fulfilled".

When wrath begins on the Jews there will be three and a half years until the Gentiles time of wrath. The Gentiles will continue until there dispensation of grace has ended and then comes the end of this age. That is why it is stated that the Gentiles will trample (holy city) Jerusalem underfoot until their time is fulfilled. This is the great tribulation when the church, the bride of Christ is persecuted like never before. At the end of the great tribulation we are gloriously delivered into His heavenly kingdom and the wrath of God comes upon the whole world.

Daniel 7:25
He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time.

Revelation 13:5-8
The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months. He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast--all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.

Daniel 12:7
The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, "It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed."

Daniel 12:1
"At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people-everyone whose name is found written in the book-will be delivered.

Daniel 7:21,22
As I watched, this horn was waging war against the saints and defeating them, until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgment in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came when they possessed the kingdom.

Praise Jesus!!!
