Moses life was a parable to demonstrate what our Lord Jesus would do in the future. The only difference is, what Moses did wasn't meant to last and what Jesus has done will last forever. Hebrews 3:5
Acts 3:22,23
For Moses said, "The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything He tells you. Anyone who does not listen to Him will be completely cut off from among His people."Moses was sent by God to deliver His people from the slavery of Egypt. Jesus Christ was sent by God to deliver His people from the slavery of earthly Jerusalem.
Moses told the people to put their trust in the blood of a slain lamb to protect their first born. Jesus told us to put our trust in His blood, the lamb of God, and He would protect the born again and they would never perish.
Moses parted the Red Sea and all Israel went down in the water and were resurrected on the other side, (baptism) free from the bondage of Egypt to serve their God in the wilderness journey, living in tents. Jesus parted His flesh and commanded us to be baptized into Him. To follow Him in death, burial and resurrection by faith, through baptism, we are resurrected on the other side to a new eternal life. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Now we are set apart unto God serving Him in these tents (earthly bodies), on our journey.
Moses was given commandments for the people to obey and by that law they would live separated unto to God or die. Jesus also established a command for His people to live by. To love one another. By this all will know that we are His disciples because we have love for one another.
Moses and the people with him were protected and led along by a pillar of fire by night and a cloud by day. Jesus has given us His holy Spirit to lead us, guide us and protect us on our journey home.
Moses sent spies to check out the land they would inherit, Joshua and Caleb came back with a good report for the people saying the land is good. Jesus invited John and Paul to see our inheritance in heaven. They have come back and declared in the scriptures that our inheritance is good.
By many other demonstrations Moses preached the gospel of Jesus Christ. The entire nation of Israel drank from a rock that Moses had smitten. Jesus is The Spiritual Rock that was smitten, that we drink from. Moses also wrapped a serpent around a pole and lifted it up for all to look at, to heal the nation of Israel. Jesus became sin for us and was lifted up on a pole and our rebellion is healed by looking to Him. Moses was prevented from continuing by death, Jesus is not.
Nearing the time of the kingdom Joshua was commissioned to lead the children of Israel into the land God had promised them. Before he could do this they had to be circumcised, for this had been neglected while they were in the wilderness. In like manner baptism (Colossians 2:11-13) has also been neglected while we have been on our new covenant journey. This must be corrected before we can receive the promised land in heaven by faith.
Many cities stood in the way and had to be destroyed before the kingdom could be built. In the new covenant many religious beliefs stand in the way of the heavenly kingdom and they must be cast down by faith.
When all of this was accomplished, Solomon (the son), put every stone, rock and jewel in its place and the kingdom was revealed. When Jesus gathers us all together at His second coming, He will receive us into the heavens put us in the place He has prepared for us and then the Kingdom of God will be manifested.
Ironically God sent a loud and clear message through this parable of Moses. Everyone who followed Moses, DID NOT enter the earthly promised land. Everyone who followed Joshua (YAHSHUA) entered the earthly promised land that those who followed Moses could not. As it is now, those who cling to the Mosaic religion will not enter the promised land in heaven. Yet everyone who follows Yahshua the Lord will.
John 14:1-4
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."
