Galatians 4:25-31
For this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to the Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children-- but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written: Rejoice , O barren, you who do not bear! Break forth and shout, you who do not travail! For the desolate has many more children than she who has a husband. Now we, brethren as Isaac was, are children of promise. But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. Nevertheless what does the scripture say? Cast out the bondwomen and her son, for the son of the bondwomen shall not be heir with the son of the freewomen. So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwomen but of the free.Ishmael, refered to above, as the children born into the first covenant. Ishmael knew his father by the name Abram. Isaac, refered to above, as the children born supernaturally into the new covenant. Isaac knew his father by the name Abraham. They both had the same father but they knew Him by different names. The child who called on his father Abram was cast out. The child who called on his father Abraham received what was promised. Under the first covenant, Moses was given a name for the people to call on, YHWH, or Yahweh. Under the new covenant, Yahshua or Jesus, has proclaimed that He has come in His Father's name. If we are children of the new covenant than we should know our Father by His new covenant name. The children of Yahweh have lost their earthly inheritance. The children of Yahshua will receive their heavenly inheritance when He returns to take us there.
