"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."
Jesus declared that He is going to heaven and when He returns He will take us there to be with Him. He is preparing a place for us there, not here. The goal of His second coming is to get what belongs to him and take us where He is right now.
Join with others in following my example, brothers, and take note of those who live according to the pattern we gave you. For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
2 Peter 3:13
But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
1 John 2:15-17
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
I would really like to be in God's will.
1 Peter 1:4
...to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.
Now if we are children, then we are heirs heirs of God and co heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
2 Corinthians 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Jesus came from heaven to this earth to do one thing. To give His life on the cross, as payment for our sins, so we could share in His eternal inheritance. He lived on this earth for approximately 35 years and He owned not one thing, nor was He interested in anything this world had to offer, except us. That gives me great assurance that where He is right now must be far better than where we are right now because He was willing to experience a horrible painful death to provide us with this opportunity to join Him in His heavenly kingdom.
At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, "Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens." The words "once more" indicate the removing of what can be shaken--that is, created things--so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,Praise Jesus!!!
