God's Dwelling

Galatians 3:16 The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say "and to seeds," meaning many people, but "and to your seed," meaning one person, who is Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.

1 Corinthians 15:23 But each in his own turn: Christ, the first fruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.

As we can see in Galatians, adding an s to the end of a word makes a very big difference. Both "FIRST FRUITS" in Corinthians are plural and the singular Christ has already been clearly addressed in both verses. The first fruits are obviously not a reference to Christ Jesus, they are in addition to Jesus. Jesus Christ is the first to be raised from the dead and ascend into heaven. In 1 Corinthians 15:20 Christ is raised and the first fruits who have died are raised after Him. 1 Corinthians 15:23 states the order of the resurrection, Jesus first, then all of the first fruits will be raised, then when He returns, He will resurrect the living and the dead who belong to Him. So who are these first fruits who ascend into heaven when they die? Jesus is the Christ, He was also a prophet and an apostle Luke 13:33/Hebrews3:1

1 Peter 2:6-8 "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame. "Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, "The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone," and, "A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall." They stumble because they disobey the message--which is also what they were destined for.

Ephesians 2:20-22 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

1 Peter declares Jesus to be the cornerstone of Gods’ dwelling in heaven. He was cut, hammered and chiseled into shape by that which He suffered. Then He was rejected as the cornerstone and hung on a cross. But God the Father accepted Him as the cornerstone and put Him in His place in heaven. Now that the cornerstone is in place, God is ready to begin placing the foundation stones for His eternal dwelling place. Ephesians 2:20 reveals that apostles and prophets are these foundation stones. As we know from natural buildings we can see, the foundation must be completed first and then the rest of the dwelling can be finished. Jesus is the cornerstone, the apostles and prophets are the foundation stones and believers are the rest of the building. Gods’ eternal dwelling is the people He has redeemed. Not a physical building but a dwelling made of people, each person being described in scripture as a type of building material.

Referring back to the order of the resurrection, Jesus first, then the apostles and prophets, and when He returns He will gather the rest of His building materials to finish His dwelling.

1 Corinthians 3:9-17 For we are God's fellow workers; (you) are God's field, God's building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames. Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.

Ephesians 2:22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

1 Peter 2:4,5 As you come to him, the living Stone--rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him-- you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Revelation 14:1-5 Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads. And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they kept themselves pure. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among men and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.

This passage declares that The Cornerstone and all the foundation stones are being assembled on mount Zion in heaven. The first fruits are apostles and prophets. That is why the apostle Paul said for (me) to die is gain. Philippians 1:21-24

1 cornerstone

1 Peter 2:6,7 For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame." Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, "The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone,

2 foundation stones

Ephesians 2:20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

3 the building

Daniel 12:1,2 "At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people-everyone whose name is found written in the book-will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.

Revelation 7:9 After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.

Praise Jesus!!!
